Official Ceremony of presentation of the “Movses Khorenatsi” medal

Official ceremony of presentation of the “Movses Khorenatsi” medal to the honoured representatives of the Armenian media Sandukht Pertizlyan (Shahandukht, Lebanon) and Nora Arisyan (Syria) took place in the Embassy of the Republic of Armenia in Lebanon on October 3, 2013. Intellectuals, representatives of media, culture and other structures were present at the ceremony.
In his welcoming speech Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia to Lebanon Ashot Kocharian mentioned that the leadership of Armenia highly appreciates devotion and contribution of compatriots in preservation of the Armenian identity. Ambassador said that the “Movses Khorenatsi” medal is awarded for significant creative achievements in the sphere culture, art, literature, education and human sciences. He highly commended the role of Armenian writers and media in preservation and development of Armenian language and values.
The Ambassador emphasized the importance of unity in pan-armenian issues and expressed his confidence that all challenges will be possible to overcome with the joint efforts and potential of Armenia, Artsakh and Diaspora.
After presentation by the journalist Lorik Sapunjyan-Tsaturyan of the biography of the nominees Ambassador Kocharian read the decree of the President of the Republic of Armenia and handed over the medals.
Ambassador Kocharian also congratulated two other representatives of the Armenian media Jirayr Danielyan and Hambik Martirosyan who by the President’s decree were also awarded with the “Movses Khorenatsi” medal.
Sandukht Pertizlyan (Shahandukht) and Nora Arisyan expressed their deep gratitude to the President of the Republic of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan, also to the Ministry of Diaspora of the Republic of Armenia and the Embassy of the Republic of Armenia in Lebanon.
