Memorial concert dedicated to the 98th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide took place at the Embassy of Armenia in Lebanon on April 29. Representatives of Lebanese government and parliament, representatives of Armenian community as well as accredited ambassadors to Lebanon attended the event. Armenian Ambassador to Lebanon Ashot Kocharian delivered his opening speech. He noted that even after 98 years consequences of the crime committed against Armenian nation haven’t vanished. Ambassador Kocharian emphasized that the crime committed against humanity doesn’t have a period of prescription.. Denial of the Genocide is the continuation of the Genocide and should be condemned by the humanity.
Ambassador also expressed gratitude to all the countries and organizations, including Lebanon, which recognized Armenian Genocide. He added that Armenian nation would continue its struggle for the elimination of all forms of genocide all over the world.
Compositions of Armenian composers have been performed performed at the concert.
