National Day Reception dedicated to the 21st Anniversary of Independence

On September 20, 2012 at the Intercontinental Phoenicia hotel of Beirut the Embassy of Armenia in Lebanon organized reception dedicated to the 21^st Anniversary of Independence of the Republic of Armenia.

After the national anthems of Lebanon and Armenia Ambassador of Armenia to Lebanon Ashot Kocharian delivered a speech to the audience. He mentioned achievements and economic developments in Armenia during the years of Independence. He presented priorities of the foreign policy of the Republic of Armenia and current challenges. Ambassador Kocharian highly appreciated a present stage of Armenian-Lebanese friendly relations emphasizing a special role of the Armenian community in strengthening and deepening of friendly ties between the countries. Ambassador expressed his deep gratitude to all Lebanese Armenian structures and individuals for their devotion to the Motherland, support and continuous co-operation. ,,Each of you, without exception, is a maker of our national unity, is the sower of our common future. We are becoming stronger through our unity, our togetherness, conquering all challenges that come our way. With your rich knowledge and experience you continue to contribute to the development of Lebanon and, of course, as the powerful bridge, to the strengthening of brotherly relations with Armenia.Our profound gratitude to Lebanese authorities for their special brotherly attitude and respect towards our compatriots and friendly Armenia,,- stressed the Ambassador of Armenia.

Among the guests were member of the Lebanese Parliament Sepuh Kalpakian, a representative of the President of Lebanon, President of the National Assembly and the President of the Council of Ministers, Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants, ambassadors and diplomats accredited to Lebanon, leaders of political parties, NGO-s, heads of international organizations, religious leaders, representatives of Armenian community and mass media.

During a colorful evening a film about Armenia has been screened, musicians from Armenia and Lebanon performed beautiful music of Armenian composers.
