Ambassador Samvel Mkrtchian met Defense Minister of Lebanon Yacoub Sarraf

On February 10, 2017 Ambassador of Armenia to Lebanon Mr. Samvel Mkrtchian met with Minister of Defense of Lebanon Mr. Yacoub Sarraf. Minister Sarraf expressed his satisfaction on current level of Armenian-Lebanese relations and assured that among the Lebanon’s partner countries Armenia is the one with existing large potential to developing and broadening bilateral relations in every field, including defense.
Ambassador Mkrtchian highlighted diversified collaboration between the two friendly countries, among which military-technical is also a priority.
Ambassador discussed with Minister the status of draft Military Cooperation Agreement between Armenia and Lebanon. The necessity of taking practical steps in the framework of military-technical cooperation already underway between the sides was emphasized. The sides agreed to hold additional working meetings towards that end.
Ambassador Mkrtchian and Minister Sarraf exchanged their views on regional developments, internal and external security threats to Lebanon and the role of armed forces in successfully countering them.
General Panos Manjian, Senior Adviser to the Defense Minister was among the participants of the meeting.
