Event dedicated to the 25th Anniversary of the National Liberation Movement of Artsakh

On March 4 upon the initiative of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation of Lebanon the closing function which concluded the events dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the National Liberation Movement of Artsakh took place in the “Hovhannes Poghosyan” hall of Burj Hammoud. After national anthems of Lebanon and Armenia participants with one-minute silence paid tribute to the heroes who died in the Artsakh war. Hakob Havatyan delivered his speech on behalf of the Central Committee of Armenian Revolutionary Federation of Lebanon. He spoke about the formation and the process of Artsakh movement, about the participation of the Armenian people as well as ARF in that movement. The speaker also highlighted the necessity of the unification of efforts of all Armenians relating to the security issues of Artsakh, international recognition of Nagorno-Karabakh Republic, recovery of the economy of Artsakh and resettlement.
The main speaker of the event was the Deputy Prime Minister of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic Arthur Aghabekyan. First he introduced the message of the President of Nagorno-Karabakh Republic Bako Sahakyan to the Lebanese Armenians on the occasion of the celebration of the 25th anniversary of National Liberation Movement of Artsakh. Then he presented some details concerning the National Liberation Movement of Artsakh, current challenges, as well as ongoing and perspective programs. He mentioned that victories in the front must be followed by the victories in the sphere of economy. Deputy Prime Minister of the NKR expressed confidence developing and prosperous Artsakh could be reached only by unified efforts, efficient work and Armenia-Artsakh- Diaspora close cooperation. During the evening videofilm “We are Artsakh” was shown, Hamazgayin dancing group, national instruments orchestra and choir - conductor Zakar Keshishyan, Artsakh fidayee-singer Makich (Mkrtich Mkrtchyan), as well as Lusine Demirchyan and Alise Iprachyan performed patriotic dances and songs.
An official function dedicated to the 25th anniversary of National Liberation Movement of Artsakh ended with the national anthem of Artsakh.
The leader of the Armenian Prelacy of Lebanon, Lebanese Armenian ministers, present and former members of the Parliament of Lebanon, the mayor of Burj Hamud, the Ambassador of Armenia to Lebanon, diplomatic staff of the Armenian Embassy, the representative of the NKR in the Middle East, the leaders and representatives of political parties and youth organizations, Lebanese Armenian patriotic unions, were present at the event.
