On October 27, 2015, Research Center on Minorities in the Middle East (RCMME) of the Holy Spirit University of Kaslik (USEK), in collaboration with the Armenian Genocide Centennial Central Committee of Lebanon, organized a symposium and a cultural evening dedicated to Armenia  (“Armenia Day”).

President of the Research Centre Jean Akiki opened the event. Ambassador of Armenia in Lebanon Ashot Kocharian in his welcoming remarks referred to the history and a rich culture of Armenian nation, its achievements during independence and foreign policy priorities. Ambassador talked about the meaning and message of the events relating to the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, as well as importance of deepening Armenia-Diaspora co-operation. Ambassador Kocharian underscored the productive role of Lebanese Armenian community in strengthening and developing friendly relations between Armenia and Lebanon.

In the framework of the symposium lecturers of USEK, AUB and Montpellier III universities presented their comprehensive reports on Armenian history and culture. 

Papal Nuncio in Lebanon, Prelate of Armenian diocese of Lebanon bishop Shahe Panosian, representatives of the Armenian Genocide Centennial Central Committee of Lebanon, intellectuals, lecturers and students of USEK University were present at the event. During the cultural part of the evening soloists and dancing troupes of the Armenian community performed musical pieces.
